Warehouse unit ticks the boxes for bespoke packaging company

A 926 sqm (9,967 sq ft) unit on St Peter's Road Industrial Estate in Huntingdon has been let to a company specialising in the technical design and product manufacturing of bespoke packaging to the food and drink sector, confirms agent Barker Storey Matthews who acted for the landlord on the instruction.

Charpak Ltd - a full-service provider of thermoformed packaging - will occupy Unit B3 Tower Close for use as additional capacity to its nearby, main premises at 30 St Peter's Road where it has been headquartered since 1998.

With a headcount of 130 following a recent vigorous recruitment drive in which 15 new members of staff were appointed, as well as a programme of investment in the latest thermoforming machines, Charpak Ltd had been seeking additional commercial warehouse space to free-up its main manufacturing site.

Paul Smith, Charpak Ltd's Managing Director, explains, "We have been pro-actively gaining business as part of a planned period of investment and growth.

In order to service the exacting requirements of new clients alongside those established clients - among whom are leading brands such as Hotel Chocolat - we needed additional premises locally. The warehouse unit at Tower Close ticked all the boxes."

Occupiers on such estates work in diverse sectors. Charpak Ltd's neighbour at Tower Close is an e-commerce company operating in the online retail space to whom we recently let a warehouse unit, on behalf of the landlord of St Peter's Road Industrial Estate, to accommodate its expansion plans too."
