Barker Storey Matthews - now part of Eddisons - was represented at a civic reception in Peterborough today (09 October) which was hosted by the City’s Mayor, Cllr Gul Nawaz for the Ambassador for the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr Simon Smits im marking the official opening of the first UK premises of Anker Stuy - a Dutch company who manufactures specialist trade paints.

The 3,818 sq ft warehouse premises at Alpha Park in the Bretton district of Peterborough were leased earlier this year (2019) in a deal which saw Julian Welch of Barker Storey Matthews’ local office act on behald of landlord, Red Oak Investments Ltd.

In a full property agent and advisory role, Barker Storey Matthews worked in conjunction with Opportunity Peterborough to identify potential commercial properties and sites in the city in order to meet Anker Stuy’s property requirements.

Julian Welch, who undertook a number of viewings with the Dutch company’s owners and advisors, who included its UK operators, before 25-26 Alpha Park was agreed as the most suitable property and location, attended today’s reception.

He commented, “It has been very rewarding to work with Anker Stuy and its advisors in conjunction with Opportunity Peterborough to secure premises for the company’s first UK base.

“This project has been a textbook example of how Peterborough’s development and inward investment stakeholders are working together with local commercial experts to best showcase the city, not only to indigenous UK companies but also to our near neighbours on the continent, such as those in the Netherlands, and further afield.”
