There was no messing about on the water for Barker Storey Matthews on Cambridge’s River Cam in August.

For the fifth year in succession, the property agency successfully defended its title as champion in the Annual Cambridge Punting Challenge which is organised by property agency Bidwells and leading, national property journal, Estates Gazette.

Punting their wits against six teams representing other local property teams was Barker Storey Matthews’ famous five of Michael Beardall, Steven Mudd, Stephen Power, Josh Burrows and Laurence Gercke.

Inter-agency rivalry saw fierce competition for second and third places which were achieved by Cushman & Wakefield and Coel.

To the victors, the spoils came in the shape of a bottle of champagne but, according to Chief Punter for Barker Storey Matthews, Laurence Gercke, “It was a first class, five star event and thanks are due to Bidwells and Estates Gazette for hosting and organising an enjoyable and successful afternoon again this year.”
