The construction of the 4,577 sq ft unit at Cygnet Green in Hampton is underway with completion of the build due at the end of April. Krispy Kreme will be looking to open in the summer. The Company opened its first UK store in 2003.
Development director at Sladen Estates, Nigel Jones, said: “We’re delighted to have let this unit to such a well-known and well-loved global firm. Cygnet Green has proved to be an extremely popular development. Phases one and two of the project have seen restaurants built for Toby Carvery and KFC alongside a 30,000 sq ft health and fitness centre operated by Peterborough City Council. The Krispy Kreme unit will complete the final plot on the site.”
Steve Hawkins, Director of Barker Storey Matthews, jointly instructed with Jenics, said: “this location is rapidly establishing itself as a major destination venue for out of town food retailers. Our clients started this process off by initially developing units for Chiquito and Frankie and Benny’s, quickly followed by Harvester and more recently Bella Italia. The Krispy Kreme deal sees the successful completion of the Cygnet Green project”.
The unit will provide approximately 40 covers, a ‘drive-thru’ lane and a production hub supplying fresh doughnuts to all Krispy Kreme in-store cabinets within a one hour radius of Cygnet Green.
