Acting on behalf of private owners, Barker Storey Matthews have disposed of freehold offices at 30-32 South Stree in Stanground, Peterborough.

The former Police Station, complete with old cell block which retains many original features (including bars to the windows!), has been sold to private developers who intend to convert the premises into residential use.

Julian Welch, Director at Barker Storey Matthews, the largest firm of Commercial Property Agents in Peterborough, acted on the disposal. He commented "This is a slightly unusual building given its previous history, albeit was last used as office space by the vendors. The purchasers intend to convert the building to residential use, which is another example of the use of the Permitted Development Rights under current planning legislation enabling development"

He went on to say "The property is ideally suited for residential conversion, and i am sure the end product will be attractive to the market".
