After a lengthy move and refurbishment process local business Furniture Market is now up and running in its new home on Brentgovel Street having been officially opened by the Borough Mayor Councillor Julia Wakelam on 28th January.

The business specialises in the sale of furniture, antiques and collectables but also supports small businesses through renting stalls within the premises providing independent businesses with an affordable medium in which to reach the busy retail market in Bury St Edmunds.

Steven Mudd of Barker Storey Matthews Bury St Edmunds’ office acted for the landlords in the letting and commented ‘This letting represents the continued demand for retail premises in Bury St Edmunds and it is promising to see another local business taking up space in a prominent location. The owners of the business, Dominic and Lindsay have shown great enthusiasm to further develop their business despite numerous hurdles surrounding their previous premises and the fit-out of the new premises, which was previously a book shop.”  Furniture Market will be open Monday to Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.

The property is an open plan retail unit of approximately 3,500 sq ft arranged over ground and first floors. It is located in the town centre close to Cornhill and Buttermarket areas with nearby occupiers including Boots Opticians, ICandy and Edmundo Lounge.
