An automotive company specialising in designing, converting and supplying vehicles for frontline emergency services and regulatory bodies has acquired the freehold of three premises in the Peterborough area through the local office of Barker Storey Matthews, now part of Eddison, who acted as agent for the vendor in the deals.

Blue Light Services, which was established in 2011, has acquired 15 Royce Road in the city’s Newark industrial district and two units at Heron Court on Eagle Business Park, Yaxley - to the south of the city.

The Royce Road premises are 8,050 sq ft and are on a site of just over half an acre. The Heron Court business units are both 1,950 sq ft.

With a current headcount of 35 staff, Blue Light Services is relocating to Peterborough from London to accommodate its business growth and expansion plans and with a view to further recruitment. The automotive company advises that it chose to relocate to Peterborough to capitalise on the skills of the workforce in the city’s regional catchment area.

Richard Jones, Director, Barker Storey Matthews, commented, “As well as the advantageous transport position Peterborough occupies the country’s road network, industrial occupiers - such as those in the automotive sectors - reference the availability of a skilled and willing workforce from which to recruit as a reason to relocate to the area.”
