An online fashion business has relocated to Peterborough from London to capitalise on the city’s transport links and more affordable warehouse premises, confirms Barker Storey Matthews.

London Top Style is the new occupier of a 2,600 sq ft (241.5 sq m) warehouse unit at Saracen Business Park, in the Newark Road commercial district of the city, where it has taken a three year lease at a quoting rent of £16,950 per annum exclusive in a deal which saw Barker Storey Matthews act as the sole agent under instruction on behalf of the landlord.

The casual footwear and clothing e-tailer is already trading from its new premises and joins the mix of warehouse, industrial and trade counter operators at the landscaped Saracen Business Park which has secured fencing and CCTV.

London Top Style had been trading from secure storage premises in Edgware, North London for three years since the business was established by co-founder and managing directr, Said Ouail.

In wanting to relocate the business and his family home from London, Said Ouail alighted on Peterborough as the ideal location. 

He explains, “The cost of commercial premises and residential property in London had become too prohibitive.  With family connections in Yorkshire and with a business that has a direct relationship with online customers whose orders we fulfill through the Royal Mail network, we needed to find a location that ticked all the boxes.

“We’ve found that in Peterborough - for our family home and for the business.  The contrast in commercial premises costs and the quality of life couldn’t be more marked. 

“This means, we have the time and the finances to invest and grow the business.  We are actively recruiting locally to do this.”
