The two-storey property was formerly the home of Dunkin Donuts which closed in the summer (2017). Barker Storey Matthews was instructed to market the 186.39 sqm (2,007 sq ft) premises by way of assignment of the existing lease - which runs until February 2024 - in the autumn and soon secured interest from Nanna Mexico - whose other Cambridge outlets are on Regent Street and Petty Cury.
The transaction was soon concluded and a re-fit of the premises in the Nanna Mexico ‘casa' style began, seeing the street food specialist open for business by the end of last month (November).
Nanna Mexico founder and owner, Luis Navarro, confirms that six additional staff have been recruited to work at the new Fitzroy Street outlet which, when fully fitted out, will serve up to 60 covers.
In speaking about the success of Nanna Mexico in Cambridge, Luis Navarro credits the traditional values of quality, service and community.
