Barker Storey Matthews' Peterborough office, acting on behalf of First Active Developments, can confirm the letting of a new flagship leisure development to Peterborough City Council.

The scheme currently under construction is the third development at Cygnet Green, following the completion of KFC and Toby Carvery in December of last year and brings the level of investment into Hampton, by First Active, to in excess of £10million.

The new leisure facility, which will be leased to Peterborough City Council, will house a 25m swimming pool, aerobic studios and fitness suite.

Steve Hawkins, Director at the Peterborough office comments "our clients have been working on this project for four years since they acquired the site from David Lloyd in 2009.  We are delighted to be involved on behalf of our clients in delivering the first new leisure centre in Peterborough for 30 years.  Peterborough City Council recognised the need to make the centre widely available to the Hampton community and as a result people will be able to enjoy an affordable first class facility".
