Optometry services will continued to be offered in Cherry Hinton, Cambridge when a new ophthalmic practice takes over the premises at 102 High Street, confirms property agent Barker Storey Matthews who was under instruction to re-let the premises.

The 38.55 sq m retail unit is on a parade of local shops in Cambridge’s popular Cherry Hinton residential district.  The new tenant, Cambridge Eyecare Opticians has taken a new five year lease and succeeds the former occupier, Cherry Hinton Ophthalmic Opticians.

Barker Storey Matthews acted on behalf of landlord, Cambridge City Council, as the sole agent in the instruction and was briefed to secure an occupier who, ideally, would retain a similar use for the premises given its importance to the local community.

There will be three highy qualified and experienced optometrists in the new practice which will be equipped with the most modern technology and instruments available to support and promote eye health in the community.

Commenting on opening the new practice in Cherry Hinton, Jay Saha, one of the ophthalmic directors of Cambridge Eyecare Opticians, said, “Collectively, as practitioners, we have over 50 years experience in optometry practice.

“We will be combining our expertise with the latest ophthalmic techniques and technology to bring the best quality eye care to patients of our predecessors as well as welcoming new clients to our practice.”
