The building became available at the end of December following Arena’s relocation to a newly built facility on the Old Railway Industrial Estate half a mile further along Needingworth Road from their former HQ.
Alan Matthews of Barker Storey Matthews who handled the transaction explains how the building was let without formally coming to the market “I was driving home one evening when I received a call from Holland from one of the Directors of RECO who explained they were looking for new premises and had to move quickly as they had been served notice on their existing site in St Neots. They explained what they were looking for and asked if we had any properties which might prove suitable.
Unfortunately at the time we had nothing but having helped Arena Structures in their search for new premises I was aware that their building would be coming to the market when they vacated. I contacted Arena who put me in touch with their landlord and a few days later RECO inspected the building and a deal was quickly agreed thereafter. This really is a win win as the landlord has secured a quick reletting of the building and RECO have a building which suits them perfectly”.
