The latest letting deal confirmed by Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons) sees BOFI Racing - specialist suppliers of performance and tuning parts for classic marque, Mazda MX-5 - as the new tenant of a 2,889 sq ft (268.4 sq m) unit at Stonehill on the Stukeley Meadows Industrial Estate in Huntingdon.

Having acted as the agent for the vendor in the recent sale of the business/warehouse unit, Barker Storey Matthews was then appointed by the property’s new owner as the sole agent under instruction to let the former trade counter unit which has a showroom and reception area.

 BOFI Racing was established as a company in 2016 on making the transition from a hobby and business sideline for three Mazda MX-5 enthusiasts and business partners who have roots in the Huntingdon area.

 Having operated from West Yorkshire for three years, BOFI Racing is coming to Huntingdon - once the home of the racing team, Lola Cars whose office and factory headquarters building on the town’s St Peter’s Road Industrial Estate is a current instruction of Barker Storey Matthews.

 While having an affinity with the Huntingdon area was a factor in the decision to relocate the business, Daniel Marshall, Director and BOFI Racing’s Head of Horsepower, explains the calculated business rationale for the move to Stukeley Meadows Industrial Estate.

 “BOFI Racing’s business is about supplying to meet demand so logistics and distribution networks are vital. In reviewing our current and potential customer base, Huntingdon is at the hub of a well-connected transport network, not only for road but for rail too.

 “Access to both is crucial for our future expansion plans which will include a recruitment drive towards the end of the year (2019),” he said.

 Matthew Hunt of Barker Storey Matthews added, “Huntingdon’s much improved transport connections are highly prized by businesses whose property requirements are increasingly being met by the town’s property stock in established and new commercial business locations.”

BOFI Racing will begin trading from its new premises later this month (October).
