The growth of the commercial utilities market in East Anglia and the East Midlands has seen one of the UK’s leading independent connection providers establish a new depot in Cambridgeshire, according to the Huntingdon office of Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons).

Acting as the sole agent, Barker Storey Matthews has let Unit 7 Nene Road at Bicton Industrial Park in Kimbolton to UK Power Solutions (UKPS), a leading independent connection provider building new electricity, gas and water networks for the residential, mixed use, industrial and commercial markets.

The 3,282 sq ft (304.9 sq m) unit gives UKPS office and warehouse accommodation in a modern, semi-detached, two storey unit on a prominent location at the established business park.

The new depot location is the latest of a UK wide depot network for UKPS, whose corporate offices are in London, Gloucester and Warrington.

From its new Cambridgeshire based, UKPS will serve the regional needs of its broad, diverse and longstanding customer base that includes established housebuilders, developers and consultants.

Commenting on the letting, Richard Adam of the Huntingdon office of Barker Storey Matthews said, “Headline terms of this transaction were agreed pre-Lockdown.

“This is one of a number of deals which has held firm, demonstrating the strength of this part of the country as businesses look to the future in progressing through phases of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
