The former unit at 3 Barton Road was no longer fit for purpose and as a result SJA needed to relocate to a more modern facility. The property attracted significant interest due to its location in the hugely popular Newnham Ward area of Cambridge, plus the potential it offers for redevelopment. After going to sealed bids the property was sold above asking price, subject to its current use as a training facility.
In addition to the disposal of SJA’s former site, BSM were able to acquire their new location; Units 3 & 4 The Business Centre in Cherry Hinton. SJA purchased the property for an undisclosed sum and are going to use the significantly more modern site as a training and admin centre whilst also making use of the warehouse space for their ambulances and other equipment.

A short term leaseback of Barton Road was agreed, which enables us to fit out the new property and move without disruption to the services we provide.”
